You can benefit the Trust in one of three ways:
- By bequeathing a specific sum of money. (Since the value of money tends to fall owing to inflation, such a sum should be reviewed from time to time.)
- By making a gift of all or part of the residue of your estate after all other bequests, taxes and expenses have been paid.
- By making a specific bequest of a piece of your property or a holding in stocks and shares which could be sold for the benefit of the Trust.
If you have already made a will, and now want to include the Trust as a beneficiary, consider adding a codicil, which is legally valid provided it is signed by you, dated and witnessed.
